U.S. Copyright Royalty Board Rejects Webcasters, Embraces SoundExchange - What does this mean? It's basically a classic case of the big guy trying to shut down the little guy.  The U.S. Copyright Royalty Board announced new rates for webcasting, a ruling that will greatly affect small webcasters who would be forced to pay unreasonably high royalties, rates so high that they will in all probability force all small webcasters to shut down or face bankruptcy.  What this ultimately means is that the Recording Industry and the U.S. Government and are putting in place regulations that will crack down on the diversity of information that is available.  So ultimately you the audience lose out.

A Noble Cause in Honor of a Noble Man

If you're in L.A. on Saturday, March 10th, make sure to stop by this once-in-a-lifetime event. "Represent, Represent! The Tempt One Art Benefit" is a one-time benefit show to raise funds for legendary Los Angeles graffiti artist Tony "Tempt" Quan. Tempt has been hospitalized for 19 months due to ALS, a degenerative muscular disease he's battled courageously for some time now. A hundred prolific graffiti artists have rallied around the cause, donating proceeds from the sale of their works to help pay for Tempt's medical care.
